New Century Insurance Group (“NCIG,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is an independent insurance agency specializing in trucking insurance. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect through www.ncig.net (the “Site”), how we use and share it, and the choices you have.
It covers two related things: the information you give us through this website, and the information we handle as your insurance agent. Those are governed by different rules, so they are described separately below.
If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the Site. Questions can go to [email protected] or (913) 393-3447.
1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
Information you give us
The contact and quote form on this Site asks for your name, email address, phone number, and whatever you choose to write in the message field. You decide what goes in that message; please do not include a Social Security number, driver's license number, date of birth, or health information in it. If we need that kind of detail to quote your coverage, we will ask for it directly rather than through a web form.
Information collected automatically
When you submit the form we store the IP address the submission came from, together with the date and time. This is a security measure: it lets us identify and block abusive or automated submissions.
Our web server and hosting provider also keep ordinary access logs, which record the pages requested, the date and time, your IP address, and your browser type. Cloudflare Turnstile, the anti-spam check on our form, inspects your browser to distinguish a person from a bot.
If you accept analytics cookies, Microsoft Clarity also records a replay of your visit — the pages you viewed, where you scrolled and clicked, and what you typed into form fields other than the ones it masks. It does not run at all unless you accept analytics.
If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics records how you move through the Site. If you do not, Google's tag still runs but with storage switched off — it writes nothing to your device, creates no identifier, and reports only an aggregate count that cannot be linked to you or to your other visits. Our Cookie Notice explains this in full.
Information we receive as your insurance agent
The following is our privacy notice as a financial institution under the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act. It applies to the information we handle in placing and servicing your insurance, whether or not you ever use this website.
We do not disclose any nonpublic personal information about our customers or former customers, except as necessary to provide insurance and financial products or services to them. In order to obtain the products and services you need, we collect information about you from the following sources:
Information we receive from you on applications and other forms.
Information about your transactions with us or our affiliates.
Information we receive from a consumer reporting agency.
Information we receive from the companies we represent that provide policies to you.
Information from other sources such as employers or government agencies.
Examples of such information may include your name, address, Social Security number, policy coverages and limits, premiums, income, claims and beneficiaries.
As independent agents, we disclose the information described above on your behalf to insurance companies and other non-affiliated third parties, including those with whom we have joint marketing agreements. Again, this is necessary to provide the competitive coverage and cost you expect from us.
We restrict access to personal information about you to those employees who need to know that information to provide insurance products or services to you. We maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards that comply with federal regulations to guard your nonpublic personal information.
2. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
We use the information described above to:
Respond to your inquiry and prepare the insurance quote you asked for.
Obtain quotes on your behalf from the insurance carriers we represent.
Place, service, renew, and administer your policies, and assist with claims.
Contact you by email, phone, or text about your request and your coverage.
Protect the Site and our systems from spam, fraud, and abuse.
Understand how the Site is used so we can improve it, where you have allowed analytics.
Comply with insurance regulations, recordkeeping requirements, and other legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own advertising purposes.
3. CALLS AND TEXT MESSAGES
If you give us your phone number when you ask for a quote, we use it to reach you about that request and about any coverage we go on to place for you. That is the purpose you gave it to us for, and it is the only thing we use it for.
You can ask us to stop calling, or to contact you only by email, by telling us on any call or by emailing [email protected]. We will still contact you where we are required to about a policy you hold. Message and data rates may apply to any text message.
We do not share or sell your phone number to anyone for their own marketing.
4. WHEN AND WITH WHOM WE SHARE INFORMATION
We share personal information only in these situations:
Insurance carriers and wholesalers. To obtain quotes and place coverage on your behalf — this is the core of what an independent agent does.
Service providers who run parts of this Site or our business for us, and only for that purpose. These are listed below.
Professional advisors, such as our accountants and attorneys, where needed.
Legal and regulatory. Where we are required by law, subpoena, or court order, or to establish or defend legal claims, or to protect the rights and safety of our customers and staff.
A successor, if our business is sold or merged. Your information would transfer under the same commitments made here.
Service providers we use
Keeping this list current is part of maintaining this policy. As of the date above, the Site and the systems behind it rely on:
Heroku (Salesforce) — hosting for the website and its application server.
MongoDB Atlas — the database where form submissions are stored.
Mailgun (Sinch) — delivers the notification email that a form submission generates.
Cloudflare — Turnstile, the anti-spam check on our form.
Google Analytics — website measurement, only as described in our Cookie Notice.
Microsoft Clarity — heatmaps and session replay, which record how pages are used. It runs only if you accept analytics cookies.
UserWay — the accessibility toolbar available on every page.
Google Fonts, jsDelivr, cdnjs, and unpkg — content delivery networks that serve the fonts and code libraries the pages are built from. Each receives your IP address in order to deliver a file.
CSR24 — the separate client portal we link to. It has its own privacy policy, and using it is governed by that policy rather than this one.
5. COOKIES AND TRACKING
We use cookies and similar technologies. Every cookie we set, who sets it, what it does, and how long it lasts is listed in our Cookie Notice at https://www.ncig.net/cookie-notice.
No cookie outside the strictly necessary category is written unless you allow it, and no service that could recognize you runs unless you allow it. You can change your choices at any time using the “Cookie preferences” link in the footer of every page.
6. HOW LONG WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION
Website form submissions are kept for up to three years, so we have a record of what was asked and what we quoted.
Records relating to insurance we actually placed are kept for as long as insurance regulations and our carrier agreements require — typically at least five years after a policy ends, and longer where a claim is involved. Access logs and security records are kept for a much shorter period, generally no more than twelve months.
When a record is no longer needed for any of these purposes, we delete it or make it anonymous.
7. HOW WE PROTECT YOUR INFORMATION
This Site is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection, and the databases behind it are access-controlled and encrypted in transit. Access to personal information is restricted to the staff who need it to do their job, as described in our Gramm-Leach-Bliley notice above.
No transmission over the internet and no system of storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure. We cannot promise that a determined attacker will never defeat our safeguards, and we encourage you not to send sensitive details such as Social Security or driver's license numbers through the website form.
8. CHILDREN
This Site and our services are for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us information, email [email protected] and we will delete it.
9. YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS
Depending on where you live, state privacy law may give you the right to:
Know what personal information we have collected about you, where it came from, and who we shared it with.
Access a copy of that information.
Correct information that is inaccurate.
Delete information we hold about you.
Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, and of targeted advertising.
Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights. We will not deny you service, charge you a different price, or give you a lower level of service because you made a request.
Some of these rights have limits. Information we are required to keep under insurance law, and information held by a carrier rather than by us, may not be something we can delete on request — we will tell you when that is the case and why.
To make a request, email [email protected] with “Privacy Request” in the subject line, call (913) 393-3447, or write to us at the address at the bottom of this page. We will verify your identity before acting, usually by confirming details we already hold, and we will respond within 45 days. If we need more time, we will tell you why before that deadline. An authorized agent may make a request for you if they provide written permission signed by you.
10. DO NOT SELL OR SHARE MY PERSONAL INFORMATION
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We have not done so in the twelve months before the date at the top of this policy.
We recognize and honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals. If your browser or a browser extension sends a GPC signal, we treat it as a valid request to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information for targeted advertising: analytics and marketing cookies are switched off automatically, and we will not ask you again. You can still turn them on yourself afterwards if you want to.
You can also refuse those categories directly, at any time, through the “Cookie preferences” link in the footer.
11. DO-NOT-TRACK SIGNALS
Most browsers offer a Do-Not-Track (DNT) setting. There is still no agreed standard for how a website should interpret one, so we do not respond to DNT signals at this time. Global Privacy Control, described above, is the signal we act on.
12. LINKS TO OTHER SITES
The Site links to insurance carriers, industry organizations, government agencies, our client portal, and other resources we think are useful. We do not control those sites and we are not responsible for their privacy practices. Their policies, not this one, govern what happens to information you give them.
13. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this policy as our practices or the law change. The “Last updated” date at the top tells you when it last changed. If a change materially affects how we use information we already hold about you, we will make that clear rather than relying on the date alone.
